This is contained in a statement released by the agency and signed by its Director, Mrs Magaret Adeseye, on Tuesday in Lagos.
She said that additional reports would be made available to the public as soon as investigation into the cause of the incident is completed.
The service boss said that the fire ensued from an industrial generator that burst into flames, adding that the fire service was notified of the incident at about 10.03 am.
Adeseye stated that the fire burnt a Toyota Salon Car which belonged to the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos Command of the Nigeria Police stationed outside the premises.
“Unfortunately, a male adult severely burnt beyond recognition was recovered from the scene and his charred body had been handed over to the Bar-Beach Police Division of the Police Command.
“Fortunately, the four-storey-commercial building where the incident occurred was saved by the Fire Service personnel and the RRS policemen escaped unhurt,” the director said in the statement.
