Bago, who gave this assurance in Minna on Wednesday during the Bago/Yakubu Youth Summit, said his government would be a women-friendly one.
“This government is for the women. We will give a considerable number of women the opportunity to represent the womenfolk in the system. The United Nations affirmative action for women talks about 35 per cent, we will exceed that during my administration in Niger State.
He further stated that women had potentials to make a difference in the state adding that there many women doing excellently in their different fields.
The APC candidate said he would collaborate with security agencies and traditional institutions to curb the menace of insecurity that had bedeviled the state.
“The security issue are too strategic to say, but we are working as a government with security agencies and we will increase more collaboration with traditional institution and security agencies to curb the menace of insecurity across the state.
“We will engage ourselves in mechanised agriculture, we will feed ourselves and export food to other parts of this country and abroad. We have strategic plans and blueprint on how to revamp the economy. It will not be business as usual; we have to wake up and work for ourselves not to be spoon-fed. We are going to work round the clock so that we can revise this trend,” he said.
He also assured the youth that his administration had a project for the youths that would rewrite their history if tapped into.
He stated that he would continue the work that had begun by this government saying, “where this government is stopping, We will pick up from there and advance it.”
The youths demanded for more political positions in in the next government as they asked the governorship candidate to do his best to eradicate unemployment and open up more job opportunities for the youths in the state.
