The G5, also called the Integrity Group, consist of Nyesome Wike of Rivers, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Samuel Ortom of Benue, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu.
Kwankwaso spoke at the inauguration of the Mgbuitanwo internal roads in the Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.
He stated that members of the Integrity Group, led by Wike, were good people who would continue to do the right thing, and would be judged by posterity based on what they did.
He said, “Many people have made many mistakes. They don’t understand. They are rigid in the sense that whether they are failing or winning, they will stick to one idea.
“We have seen people in my former party that whatever they want is the ticket. They are ready to do anything to have a ticket.”
He noted that Rivers State, like Kano and Lagos, was critical to winning any election.
Kwankwaso continued, “Certainly, Lagos is not theirs. One begins to wonder where they will get their votes to win the election.
“We have seen people struggling and probably regretting going around to talk to many leaders to beg them to intervene, either here or there.
“Let me say to those leaders. Please, at this critical time, respect yourselves. Do the right thing.”
