Wayne Rooney, the English professional football manager and former player, has talked about Cristiano Ronaldo.
Rooney said his former Manchester United team-mate, Cristiano Ronaldo, had “no other choice” but to leave the Premier League club.
United and Ronaldo parted ways on Tuesday, with both parties releasing statements to say it was by mutual agreement.
“Am I surprised? No. There was no other choice but that’s a shame because he’s been a fantastic servant to the club.
“I wish him the best wherever he goes,” Rooney told Sports 18.
Rooney has been critical of Ronaldo this season, especially when the Portugal captain refused to come on against Tottenham.
Ronaldo then went on Piers Morgan Uncensored to criticize United, manager Erik ten Hag and his team-mates.
