Chinye, who is the party Chairman for Aniocha North LG stated this on Wednesday when the Omo-Agege campaign train hit the local government.
He said the claim of the projects which the governor had been saying he provided for the people of Aniocha North were funded by the NDDC.
He said, “We want to state that the projects Governor Okowa said he provided for the people of Aniocha North were funded by the NDDC.
“These road projects in Aniocha North remain very important owing to the fact that many of the dwellers in rural areas are farmers who contribute to the food baskets of the state.
“Okowa should stop taking credits over projects that his administration never awarded, funded and inaugurated in Aniocha North.”
He regretted that the Onicha-Uku/Issele-Uku road was in a sorry state, as the two communities have more or less been cut off from each other over the inaccessible road.
Reacting to the claims, the member, representing Aniocha North Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Emeka Nwobi, said apart from road networks, Okowa had funded numerous projects in the council for the wellbeing of the citizens.
He stated that there was work ongoing at the Onicha-Uku-Issele-Uku road project, which the state governor Okowa awarded and mobilised contractors to the site.
He advised the good people of Aniocha North Local Government Council to ignore such claims by the APC chairman, saying that the “APC thrives on propaganda and falsehood.”
