Also abducted were his two neighbours, Alhaji Yahaya and Sa,adu Mainama.
Speaking to The PUNCH on the phone, an indigene of the town, Sani Abubakar said the bandits arrived the town around 11 o’clock pm on Thursday and began to shoot sporadically to scare away people.
Abubakar explained that many people took to their heels on hearing the gunshots, while others shut their doors to avoid abduction.
He said the bandits went straight to the residence of Aminu Ardo where they broke the gate to gain entry.
“Immediately the bandits entered into the house, they abducted the wife of the Honourable member and his four children.
“As they were coming out of the house, they spotted two of his neighbours, MalamYahaya and Sa,adu Mainama who they also abducted,” he said.
Abubakar said the bandits also took away a motorcycle belonging to one of the abducted persons.
Frantic efforts were made to speak to the lawmaker proved abortive as he did not pick up several calls put through to his phone.
The state’s Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Ibrahim Dosara, also did not pick up his phone although he confirmed the incident to BBC Hausa.
Contacted for comment on the issue, the state’s Police Command Spokesperson, Mohammed Shehu, said “I will get more details”.
However, Shehu did not respond up to the time of filing this report.
