An elated Onanuga revealed the news via his official Facebook account.
The PCC media director had alleged on Sunday that he was nearly crushed to death after a vehicle in Atiku’s convoy rammed into his car in Abuja.
Rather than wait to assess the level of damage and the safety of the car’s driver, the former Director General of the News Agency of Nigeria claimed the car returned to the convoy and sped off.
A livid Onanuga explained that after he trailed the convoy to its destination, he discovered to his utter dismay that it was owned by Atiku, and not some governors as he earlier thought.
He, however, mollified when a man who identified himself as the chief of staff promised to sort out the damages.
Three days after the accident, an elated Onanuga took to his Facebook again to announce that he had been fully reimbursed by Atiku’s men.
He wrote, “My car is now back on the road, fully repaired after the bashing on Sunday by a driver in Atiku Abubakar’s convoy.
“I commend Atiku’s aides, especially the Chief of staff Mainasara Sani, director of strategic communications, Dele Momodu, for ensuring that I was fully reimbursed for the expenses incurred.
“I also applaud the sanction meted out to the driver who hit my car. Our VIPs need to constantly caution their drivers in their motorcade to respect other road users.”
