Eyes are on popular singer, David Adeleke, aka Davido, as he is set to perform in Qatar today, at the closing ceremony of the global football event, FIFA World Cup (2022).
It goes without saying that many of the singer’s fans and well-wishers are anticipating his performance later today, particularly because he has not performed at any concert after the death of his son, Ifeanyi.
In an Instagram post on Friday, December 16, 2022, a FIFA-licensed players’ agent, Bernard Colligon, posted a video of himself with Davido and Ghanaian singer, Livingstone Satekla, aka Stonebwoy.
Even though it had earlier been known that Davido was slated to performing at the closing ceremony of the tournament, seeing him in Qatar on Friday felt surreal for some his fans, who felt he could cancel the engagement because of Ifeanyi’s death.
Recall that the singer was billed to have his well publicised Are We African Yet? concert in Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America, on November 18, 2022, but he later postponed it to November 18, 2023.
Today’s performance will be the Stand Strong singer’s second public appearance since Ifeanyi’s demise. His first appearance was during the inauguration of his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, as the Governor of Osun State on November 27, 2022.
