The panel of two magistrates, Adam Sadiq and Hyacinth Dolnaan, who sentenced Bitrus after he pleaded guilty, however gave him an option of N25,000 fine.
They also ordered that the stolen vehicle be returned to the owner.
They said the judgment would serve as deterrent to those who would want to indulge in such criminal acts.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Inspector Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that the case was reported on November 15, 2022, at the Anglo-Jos Police station by one Onyekwere Churchill.
The prosecutor said that the convict bought the vehicle for N18million from one Tardoo Tegbenda, who stole the said vehicle.
The police said the offence was punishable under the provisions of section 302 of the Penal Code Law.
