Healthgarde International, first Nigerian multi-level network marketing company, with range of health products and over 50,000 active independent consultants is poised to empower, boost self-esteem, and promote physical, mental wellness of Nigerians, Africans and the world through wealth creation.
Speaking to GATMASH NEWS at the 2023 convention of Healthgarde International held in Lagos on Saturday, 28th January, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Nneka Lovelyn Nwarueze, said in three years the company has made history being the first Multi-Level Marketing Company of international standards, founded by a Nigerian woman that has a foundation and have been able to inspire people to make difference not only in their lives, but in the lives of others especially women.
“Healthgarde is network marketing and has a foundation which is for the less privileged. The network marketing is to help people make money, teach them how they can make money with the little they have and teach them how to boost their self-esteem; speak to people because most of them are shy.
At the moment, “the foundation has empowered over 300 women on various empowerment programs and currently have four university graduates and about 15 people in primary school all scholarship”.
The Chief Operating Officer, Healthgarde International, Mrs. Lovelyn Bassey while making clarification about the event said: “Every year we have a convention; it’s an international convention where we recognize the top achievers in our company. So it’s not just about Nigeria, we bring in the top achiever from South Africa. This year for the first time, we’ve got the top achiever and franchise owner healthgarde in Uganda. So, we look at the body of work they’ve done for one year, and then, we recognize the top people”.
With footprints and extensive input in seven African countries including South Africa, Uganda, Ghana, Cameron and a presence in the United States of America and the United Kingdom, Healthgarde recently unveiled Rugby World Cup champion, Tendai Mtawarira a.k.a the Beast, as its first brand partner and envoy.
Stating the idea behind the South African as an ambassador, Mrs. Bassey said “one of the things that we pride ourselves as with healthgarde is the fact that we’re not just a Nigerian company, we are an African company. So, when looking for a brand ambassador, we wanted someone who is not just Nigerian, but someone who would represent us on the continent of Africa, and also looking outside of Africa.
“And we also wanted that entrepreneurial spirit so it couldn’t just be any other South African. It had to be somebody who, when you look at his work, his upbringing, he also fits into the Nigerian story coming from a humble home and getting a scholarship to study. One thing he was good at was playing rugby, his size and you look at the Nigerian story where you find some awesome kids where they’re good at soccer, and that help them through school, all of that and through live.
“We’re always thinking global, we’re always thinking International. Our company is also heard on the international stage. It’s heard in America more, it’s heard in UK more, because we’re proudly African, we are proudly Nigeria, and we want them to know that there are great things coming out of Nigeria. And the best way to do it is to work with people who are Africans, their outlook is Africa.”
Rugby champ, Tendai Mtawarira a.k.a the Beast and brand ambassador, Healthgarde International speaking to the press in Lagos at the convention seeks to empower and equip youths through sports, education and skills development and hopes to influence the marketing growth of the brand.
“Healthgarde has been seen as a predominantly a woman organization. Having me as the ambassador shows that Healthgarde is pivoting and trying to show that it applies to men as well and men can also be a part of the brand and be consultants. That’s the reason why the collaboration works because I appeal to a lot of male people in the continent that resonate with me being a big guy, being a sport individual and a world champion. For me to endorse Healthgarde I think is going to help a lot of men to come join as well” he said.
The former Springboks rugby player, entrepreneur, and philanthropist said “the products are amazing, I’ve been using quite a few of them. One of the things I’ve enjoyed the most is that my immune system and my energy levels because I train a lot, I gym a lot. There are just a lot of benefits to healthgarde products. For my health and wellness, it’s great; you don’t get sick or succumb to certain diseases if you apply their products on a daily basis. I’m still learning a lot more and I’m going use a lot more going forward but what I have used so far is impressive”.
Tendai, who felt wonderful being in Lagos, Nigeria for the first time said of Nigerian youths: “If the youths can believe in themselves and equipped themselves with the right skills and tools, work hard, they can change the world that we live and I want Africa to reach its ultimate potential. I think the youths must believe in themselves and not get caught up in the wrong things, stay away from drugs, violence, crime, all the bad things and focus more on their educational pursuit and give themselves a great foundation to be successful in life” he reiterated.
