Victory over Nasarawa relief to 3SC –Ogunbote

Following their 2-0 win over struggling Nasarawa United in a match-day six encounter of the Nigeria Professional Football League on Sunday, the 3SC coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, believes the victory is a relief to his team.

Two first half goals by Samuel Ayanrinde sealed the win for the Oluyole Warriors which is their second home win after six games already this season.

After the win, Ogunbote stressed the importance of the win to achieving their targets this season.

“The most important thing is that we have the three points in the kitty because the expectation was so high. There were some games we ought to have won but we didn’t win which brought a lot of pressure on the team. I think with this, it will bring relief to the team,” he said

After winning the NPFL pre-season tournament, 3SC have endured a tough start to life in the abridged league with their first victory of the season being a hard-fought 1-0 win over El-Kanemi Warriors in Ibadan on match-day four.

Before then, they’ve been beaten by Remo Stars in Ikenne and also held to draws by Plateau United and Kwara United.

3SC’s next game is a home date with surprise leaders, Bendel Insurance on match-day seven.
