The Conference of Northern States Civil Society Networks, comprising 19 northern states, on Thursday, called on the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, to address political thuggery in the country.
The group urged the IGP to take decisive and aggressive action against thuggery and banditry or it will consume the entire country.
The leadership of the group in a press statement jointly signed by the 19 Northern exco members, raised the alarm that the rate at which political thuggery is occurring is alarming.
In the press statement,, they said there is an urgent need for the IGP to intervene without further delay, to enable the general election, which is nine days away, to be held peacefully and successfully.
