The council is an invitation-only community for business owners and leaders. The council allows top executives and entrepreneurs to build professional skills, gain connections and visibility and members are each grouped into a relevant council.
According to the council, Plumptre was selected by a review committee based on the depth and diversity of her experience.
The Founder of Forbes councils, Scott Gerber, said Sobumi’s addition would further drive the council’s positive impact on the business world.
“We are honoured to welcome Subomi Plumptre into the community. Our mission with Forbes Councils is to bring together proven leaders from every industry, creating a curated, social capital-driven network that helps every member grow professionally and make an even greater impact on the business world.”
Reacting to her acceptance into the council in a statement on Friday, Plumptre, who is a co-founder of Volition Cap (Nigeria) and Volition Blue (USA), said her membership would give her the needed opportunity to share best practices with business executives from around the world.
“It is a great honour for me to be welcomed to the Forbes Business Council. As a co-founder of local and global companies focused on the middle class, I am confident that this membership will provide an opportunity to share best practices with executives from around the world, and to learn about solutions to promote sustainable wealth.
“I especially look forward to connecting and collaborating with executives who understand the value that Africa represents as a global investment destination.”
