A former National Vice Chairman (South-West) of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Eddy Olafeso, has called on the G-5 governors who have refused to support the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to retrace their steps.
The G-5 governors, also known as Integrity Group, are Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Ifeanyi Ugwanyi of Enugu State and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.
Olafeso, who is also the Liaison Desk Officer for the PDP in the South-West, spoke to journalists on Wednesday in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
While decrying the activities of the G-5 governors Olafeso said, “It would have been better if all of us were on the same page.”
“But it is never too late to retrace your steps. It is the same thing they promoted and are rejecting now, but tomorrow belongs to God.
“I think there must be a law of Karma behind the G-5; the mindlessness of their quest will end in total disaster for them,” he said.
The PDP stalwart, however, urged Nigerians to vote for the party in the presidential and National Assembly elections coming up on Saturday.
According to him, the ruling All Progressives Congress does not deserve to retain power, as it has allegedly destroyed the country and has no solution to the challenges facing the nation.
Olafeso said, “We must dislodge the APC from this country; the APC is unknown to modern politics. The APC has done enough for us to bury them, and I know for sure they will be buried on Saturday. Our country must be united; we are going to do very well in the South-West.”
