Our correspondent who visited several polling units observed that voters were waiting for INEC officials. They also started issuing numbers among themselves while they waited.
At the three polling units, 107, 108 and 109 located inside Benster Crescent, Mazamaza, INEC officials showed up around 1:00 p.m. The waiting voters expressed anger at the development.
One of the voters, Rosemary Uzo, said, “We have been here since 8:30am, nothing is happening, no (INEC) official, a lot of people have left but we are still here. Whenever they come, we will vote. We are not giving up. This is past 12 noon and we are still waiting.”
However, INEC officials arrived earlier, about 10:00 a.m at PU 073 and 072 at F-show. Voting and accreditation were talking place when our correspondent visited the polling units.
INEC officials also arrived late at the polling unit at Coscharis junction and the one at Benster Crescent junction, where there were queues for women, men and the aged. Accreditation and voting had commenced at both polling units as of 1.00 p.m.
At one of the polling units at Olayemi Street, INEC officials said they arrived late because they missed their way.
