The Executive Director of the organisation Mr. Yahuza Magaji at a press conference in Jalingo, named the local government areas to include; Yorro, Jalingo, Donga, Takum and Gassol.
Magaji noted that his organisation arrived at the five local government areas as potential electoral violence areas following the work of their long term monitors.
“Our long term monitors are working across the local government areas in Taraba and we received report from them. From the report we have received so far, Yorro, Jalingo, Gassol, Donga and Takum are toping the chart of potential electoral related violence from the indices we have set.
“It is imperative to note that we are implementing a project on Election Violence Mitigation and Monitoring in Taraba State, with funding support from the International Republican Institute through Kimpact Development Initiative and support from National Endowment for Democracy.
“From the threats we have noticed, we are carrying out strategies that would ensure peaceful election as was witnessed in the just concluded presidential election in the state.
“We are currently running a radio jingle in both English and Hausa Languages to remind citizens of their roles and responsibilities in ensuring peaceful elections,” he said.
