Ethiopia is the only country in Africa with its own alphabet, letters, and numbers.
The Ethiopic alphabet, which is the word oldest alphabet, consists of 26 letters all representing consonants, which may be transformed into syllabic symbols by the attachment of the appropriate vocalic markers to the letters. They are known as Ethiopic. The 26 letters are derived from 24 of the 28 Sabaean letters.
Apart from being the only African country with its own alphabet, letters, and numbers, it is also one of the few that still follows its own calendar and has a 13th month, made up of leftover dates.
While Christians observe Christmas on December 25th, Ethipians observe it on January 7th.
