Barely one year after a suspected cult leader simply identified as Tommy was killed in in Oluwo area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, three persons have been killed in the State capital.
Our correspondent gathered that the cultist allegedly resumed killings to mark the one year remembrance Tommy, the leader of the Eiye cult group who was killed on March 24, 2022, at Panseke, Abeokuta.
The killing of Tommy sparked controversies in the state as members of Aiye and Eiye cult groups clashed and kill members of each other across the state.
It was reported that many were killed between March and April last year in the superiority clashes that ensued between the two cult groups.
However, scores of the suspected killers were arrested by operatives of the state police command.
It was gathered that a young man was shot dead at Panseke by yet-to-be identified persons last Friday.
The victim was reportedly killed on Friday evening while returning from the Computer Village at Ibara axis.
Also, a kid belonging to a trader was also hit by a stray bullet fired by the gunmen and he died.
Our correspondent further gathered that on Tuesday, another young man was shot dead at Araromi, behind the Navy Boys Secondary School in Abeokuta.
Residents said that the victim was walking along the narrow path when he was shot at very close range.
The victim died immediately and this caused tension among residents of the area.
However, the body of the victim was reportedly evacuated by the police from Adigbe division.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident when he was contacted on Tuesday.
