Atiku Abubakar, the 2019 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate has joined other Nigerians in condemnation of the killing of Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Paul Offu by suspected herdsmen.
Offu was killed by yet to be identified gunmen, suspected to be armed herdsmen, while traveling on Ihe-Agbudu Road in Awgu Local Government Area of the state in the evening of Thursday, Aug. 1..
His death has since stirred diverse reactions from Catholic priests who staged a protest and from other well-meaning Nigerians

The former Vice President further extended his condolences to the families of the Catholic Priest.
Atiku on his Twitter page wrote: “The killing of Rev. Fr. Paul Offu in Enugu State is yet another reminder that no one is immune from this ravaging epidemic.
“My deepest condolences to the Offu family and the Catholic Church in Nigeria. May his soul Rest In Peace.”
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari expressed deep shock and dismay over the killing of another priest, ordering a thorough manhunt for the killers and their immediate prosecution.
