All roads will lead to Time Square Event Centre, Ajao Street, off Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja, Lagos, on November 7, 2021, as Gospel singer, Evangelist Lekan Remilekun Amos, and his siblings host the 20th remembrance ceremony of their late father, Dr. Remilekun Amos, popularly known as Omo Dafidi.
The event whose dress code is “White and Champagne Gold,” is expected to attract top gospel artists, celebrities, and dignitaries from across the country. It will feature soulful worship sessions, musical tributes, and heartfelt testimonies celebrating the enduring legacy of the late Ilaje-born gospel legend.
Speaking ahead of the event, Evang. Lekan Remilekun Amos reflected on his deep connection with his father, describing him as a “sound teacher of the Word” whose values continue to shape his ministry and lifestyle.
“My dad and I shared the same ideology in our messages — both philosophical and scripture-based,” he said.
“People often say I preach better than I sing — that’s a gift I inherited from him. Interestingly, he had me when he was 29, and I also had my first child at 29. We even held the child’s christening on his remembrance day, November 4, 2011. That shows how strong our bond is.”
Amos also revealed that his father’s firm stance on integrity and spirituality continues to guide him:
“My dad would never perform in places where the glory of God isn’t seen, no matter the amount offered. I’ve had offers to perform in clubs, but I always decline — it’s a discipline I learned from him.”
The late Dr. Remilekun Amos, a revered gospel artist from Ilaje, mysteriously disappeared in November 2000 while traveling out of Lagos for a ministration and was never found.
Two decades later, his children — led by Evang. Lekan Remilekun Amos — are determined to honour his memory in grand style, promising a carnival-like celebration of life, faith, and legacy that will bring together the gospel community and admirers of the late icon.
