No fewer than three persons were killed and six others sustained injured after two vehicles collided along the Abuja-Kaduna highway on Saturday.
Our correspondent learnt that the accident occurred when a Toyota Highlander, with the number plate, KWL198KA, was travelling from Kaduna to Abuja and collided with a Volkswagen Golf with the number plate, MKA89ZY, which was coming from the opposite direction.
The collision left both vehicles badly damaged, leaving several passengers trapped.
The victims were immediately rushed to the General Hospital, Sabon Wuse, by emergency response teams.
However, three of them were pronounced dead on arrival.
The injured victims received treatment at the hospital and were said to be in critical condition.
Sunday PUNCH learnt that the three dead bodies had been handed over to their family members after proper identification at the scene.
The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps, Bisi Kazeem, had yet to respond to enquiries on the accident.
