The Director-General Press Affairs Gombe State Government House Ismaila Misilli, on Wednesday, said Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, has yet to dissolve his cabinet.
Misilli was reacting following reports that Yahaya had directed ministries departments and agencies to submit handover notes before April, 19.
Misilli said the governor’s directive was an advisory and not termination of appointments of cabinet members.
He said, “Gombe Governor, Inuwa Yahaya, didn’t dissolve cabinet. The memo sent by the office of the Secretary to the State Government is just an advisory communication to the heads of MDA’s to prepare their handover notes ahead of time as the first tenure of the present administration is winding down. Nowhere in the letter was it stated that the State Executive Council was dissolved.”
Earlier, in a letter from the office of the Secretary to the State Government, which was signed by Rabi’u Abubakar and dated April 11, the government had said, “Following the recent successful conduct of the 2023 governorship election, which marked the end of the first tenure of the governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, I am directed to request that you prepare a comprehensive handover note of your ministry, department and agency. Your submission may also include report of ongoing projects and programmes of government.”
