The governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in the just concluded general elections in Enugu State, Chief Dons Udeh, has been reportedly killed.
Udeh, who was said to have gone missing on Saturday, was reportedly found dead on Wednesday in the 9th-mile area of the state.
Udeh was a former Enugu State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state and had remained a member of the party till defected to APGA to pursue his governorship ambition.
Although details of his abduction and recovery of his remains are still sketchy, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, has confirmed the incident to The PUNCH in a telephone call.
Ndukwe didn’t provide any details but promised to get details and revert.
Meanwhile, a family source told our correspondent that Udeh was last seen on Saturday, which raised suspicion that he might have been kidnapped.
“On Sunday evening, his telephone was found by the wall of the Ogui Police Station, confirming fears that he could have run into trouble.
“His wife, who had been trying the line, was later informed that the phone was found.”
