The National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) has celebrated with the Nigerian workers on International Workers Day, also known as May Day, hailing their resilience, determination and focus while calling on the Federal Government to attend to the welfare of the workers towards giving them a good life as obtainable in other climes and among their contemporaries.
The Association made this remarks in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Eric Elezuo, where it also acknowledged the Nigerian worker as a symbol of dedication to duty and nationalism.
“It is with utmost joy that we celebrate the resilient workforce of Nigeria workspace, noting with pride that the Nigerian worker is a symbol of dedication, determination and excellent focus. Their ability to keep the work wheel rolling calls for reciprocation from the Federal Government with adequate welfare as it is obtainable elsewhere and among contemporaries,” the statement read.
The Association however, frowned at the celebrated lack and shabby treatment of the workers, asking the government to intervene, and bring a permanent solution to the many crises that have rocked various arms of the workers union. It recalled the incessant strikes in many arms like the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) among others.
“While it is noted that the Nigeria worker is among the most dogged in the world, it is sad that they, from many instances, it seem to be the most shabbily treated and needs urgent attention to compete favourably with their contemporaries around the world. The government must therefore, give a listening to demands and come to a mutual agreement beneficial to all parties.
NAOSNP also noted that given the right atmosphere and work environment, the workers will give more than they are presently giving.
In his personal capacity, the president of the Association, Mr. Samson Oki, wished the workers the best of celebrations, pledging the support of the association at every turn in the discharge of their constitutional duties.
