The outreach is part of activities lined up to mark the 59th Anniversary Celebration of the service.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony of the outreach, the Air Officer Commanding, Mobility Command, Air Vice Marshal Elijah Ebiowe, who was represented by the Command Operations Officer, Air Commodore Friday Ekpah, stated that the service would continue to employ other non-kinetic measures to win the hearts and minds of its host communities.

Mobility Command, Squadron Leader Lawal Olayinka.
The statement partly read, “This is not the first time the NAF is extending this kind of gesture to the citizens. The medical outreach in Bayelsa State is part of activities lined up to mark the 59 Anniversary Celebration of the NAF. During the medical outreach, over 1000 persons were treated.
“The Nigerian Air Force since 2012, has been at the forefront of airlifting relief materials and evacuation of victims of flood disasters in the country and in addition to working in concert with other security agencies and the state government to guarantee the safety of lives and property in the entire state.”
He added that the medical outreach was also designed as a civil-military cooperation effort, to win the hearts and minds of residents of host communities and for them to know that the military was not all about carrying of arms.
Ebiowe urged citizens to be free to give information to security agencies to enable them provide adequate security for lives and properties.
He noted the NAF had made several gains in various operational theatres in the country in its quest to bring lasting peace and security to all.
