The Lagos State Public Procurement Agency has called for collaboration with members of the business community towards ensuring the efficiency of its procurement system.
The appeal was made at a function organised by the agency on Wednesday, to foster collaboration among stakeholders.
The event had as its theme: “Achieving a seamless procurement system through collaboration.”
In his remarks, the Head of Service for Lagos State, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Public Service Office, Sunkanmi Oyegbola, stressed the need for continuous engagement with experts to maintain the city’s preeminent position and achieve the greater Lagos dream.
He lauded the synergy the agency built with other organisations, which he said was evident in the notable improvements observed in the procurement process flow
“Let me charge members of the business community and service providers as well as other stakeholders to further demonstrate high level of responsibility for the process of public procurement system in Lagos to work seamlessly to the satisfaction of all,” Muri-Okunola added.
In his address, the Director General of the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency, Fatai Onafowote, explained that the publication of the 2022 annual report is in compliance with enabling law setting up the agency and provides relevant information and data on all contracts awarded by the state government in the year 2022.
