FC Vaduz striker, Franklin Sasere, is relishing the prospect of playing in the UEFA Europa Conference League next season after clinching a 4-0 win over FC Balzers in the Liechtenstein Cup on Wednesday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Cedric Gasser, Tunahan Çiçek, Lars Traber and Tim Väyrynen were the goals scorers for Vaduz, as they booked a return to the Conference League.
Since joining them from Swiss side Lugano in 2022, Sasere has featured prominently for Vaduz, scoring two goals in two appearances in the cup competition.
The former Sunshine Stars striker was also instrumental to their qualification for the UEFA Europa Conference League at the start of this season with two goals and two assists in six appearances.
The club made history by qualifying for the Europa Conference League group stage, becoming the first ever club from Liechtenstein to reach the group stages of a UEFA club competition, after beating Rapid Wien away in Austria.
He is now looking forward to another adventure in Europe, after failing to target in the group stages this season.
“Another trophy in my cabinet and a place in Europe next season guaranteed. God is the greatest,” Sasere tweeted on Thursday in the wake of their triumph.
Despite being a Liechtenstein club, Vaduz play in the Swiss Challenge League and are currently placed ninth on the league table.
Their next league game is an away trip to FC Wil on Saturday.
