The ruling All Progressives Congress has nullified the expulsion of former Governor Danjuma Goje over his involvement in anti-party activities.
Goje, a serving senator representing Gombe Central, was expelled by his Kashere ward of the ruling party in Gombe State.
Aside from Goje, other expelled members included the lawmaker representing Yalmatu Deba Federal Constituency, Yunusa Abubakar, and a senator representing Gombe South, Bulus Amos.
The expulsion was later affirmed by the state executive of the party.
But APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, issued a statement on Thursday, in Abuja, titled, “Expulsion of Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje set aside – remains a bonafide member of APC.”
It read, “The attention of the National Headquarters of All Progressives Congress has been drawn to media reports of the purported expulsion of His Excellency, Senator Mohammad Danjuma Goje by the Gombe State Executive Committee of our party.
“The party has directed that the said expulsion, and all related actions in the matter, be and are hereby, set aside pending further review and decision of the party’s National Working Committee on the matter. Therefore, Senator Goje is, and remains, a bonafide member of the Gombe State chapter of our party.”
Continuing, Morka also expressed deep concerns over the abirtrary manner high ranking members are being subjected to various disciplinary measures at the grassroots level, saying it is a worrisome trend.
