Angry Arsenal fans have taken to Gift Orban’s Instagram Page to hit out at the forward after he said he doesn’t like the Gunners, PUNCH Sports Extra report.
Orban, in a recent interview with Het Laatste Nieuws, said he would prefer a switch to either Manchester United, Manchester City or Liverpool but ruled out a move to Arsenal, claiming that the London club don’t want to win titles.
The 20-year-old Gent forward has scored 20 times in 20 games in all competitions this season, despite having only moved to Belgium from the Norwegian second-tier in January.
Arsenal missed the chance to win the Premier League title this season after they allowed an eight-point lead slip, allowing Manchester City to win the EPL for a third consecutive season.
“The Premier League is my ultimate dream,” Orban said.
“Manchester United, Liverpool or Manchester City. I don’t really like Arsenal – it’s like they don’t want to win titles. Under Arsene Wenger, the club went 10 years without winning the league. They play and sell players – that’s it. I want to go somewhere, where they win prizes.”
His comments, however, angered Gunners fans, who insisted the 20-year-old goals scoring sensation couldn’t lace the boots of forward Eddie Nketiah.
@awetwedieri stated on Instagram, “You are 20 but can’t even score a goal for your country. Try looking at Saka, he played in the European Championship with England when he was a teenager.”
Ruby Alejandro wrote, “Bro, no one wants you here…I just checked your goals, you will fit better in Swansea City.”
@felix.drrs added, “You can’t even tie Eddie’s (Nketiah) boots.”
Devvratt Shah likened the attitude of the former Stabeak forward to Cristiano Ronaldo with the ability of Danny Welbeck.
“Attitude of Ronaldo ability of Welbeck. Orban would do well with some media training. Because such “nonsense talk” can ruin his entire career.”
@Mike11_10 also posted, “What a shameless guy he is, his club (Gent) is placed 11th and he is trying to teach us about bottling the league?”
Arsenal 19 year wait for the league title continues but this season they will settle for the Premier League runners-up spot and a return to the Champions League after a six-year absence.
