An Ogba Magistrates’ Court sitting in the Ikeja area of Lagos State on Tuesday remanded five men for robbery and possession of weapons.
The defendants, Saheed Ganiyu, 30, Azeez Adekunle, 21, Hamed Femi, 23, Jimoh Adejobi, 20, and Iyanuoluwa Delight, 23, were remanded in the Kirikiri Custodial Centre.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Felicia Okwori, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on February 3, 2023.
The charge read in part, “That you, Saheed Ganiyu, Azeez Adekunle, Hamed Femi, Jimoh Adejobi, Iyanuoluwa Delight and others now at large on February 3, 2023, between 2pm and 4pm along the Abeokuta Expressway by Alakuko Bus-Stop in the Ikeja Magisterial District did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit armed robbery and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 299 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
Magistrate H. B Mogaji did not take the pleas of the defendants.
The case was adjourned till June 23, 2023.
