This was contained in a letter signed by the Secretary, Board of Trustees of the flagship group for indigenes of the town, Ifon Orolu Progressive Union, Jide Akinyooye, and addressed to the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Teslim Igbalaye, a copy of which was obtained in Osogbo on Tuesday.
The group stated that the last indigene of the town who served in the state cabinet left office 12 years ago, adding that Orolu Community has an array of qualified professionals, whose expertise can be of benefit to the state if given the opportunity to serve.
It read, “Besides your capacity as the Secretary to the Osun State Government; you are the highest state political leader from our Federal Constituency and well regarded as a reliable and trusted personality that can make a case for the nomination of a commissioner from Orolu Local Government.
“Please understand that Orolu has many credible, experienced and committed people that have contributed to the Peoples Democratic Party electoral victory and her legal representation can fit as a utility candidate for any portfolio.
“We will ever appreciate your commitment, interest and contribution towards actualizing this noble request for Commissioner slot and deserved recognition; especially that we have been denied for the past 12 years.”
