The final day of the Premier League season on Sunday will determine if Alex Iwobi or the duo Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho will be relegated with their respective teams, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Everton will be home to Bournemouth, Leicester welcome West Ham to the King Power stadium and Leeds will hope to beat Tottenham Hotspurs in front of their fans Sunday evening to avoid the drop.
Everton, currently placed 17th in the log are two points clear of relegation on 33 points from 37 games, while both Leicester and Leeds occupy 18th and 19th position with 31 points each.
The Foxes also have a superior goal difference than Leeds.
Home wins for the three clubs will mean the Foxes and Whites drop down to the English Championship and Everton avoid relegation.
But should The Toffees fail to win, and Leicester or Leeds win their games, Everton will be relegated.
While Ndidi could be a doubt for Sunday’s showdown after injury forced him out of last Monday night’s goalless draw at Newcastle United, his compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho is fighting to be fit for this final league game.
Meanwhile, Iwobi, has made a relegation pledge to Everton fans that the Toffees won’t be relegated at the end of the season.
“I don’t think we’ll be distracted by focusing on any other game,” Iwobi said.
“Because on the day as long as we get the result and get the win, it doesn’t really matter about any of the other results. So that will be our focus.
Speaking further Iwobi added, “We don’t ever want to be in it again but it would still be a good feeling. We didn’t want to be in that position last year but we still celebrated like it was a cup final.
“That’s how much it means to us and how much it means to Everton. It’s been a hard season, at least let us have the reward of staying in the league. I can’t lie. I think we will celebrate it a bit, even if it is just a release of the pressure.
“We don’t want that history where Everton go down and it is all on us. It is not going to happen to our names – that is what we are trying to make sure doesn’t happen.”
