Everton need a final-day victory to be sure of survival. Although they at least have their fate in their own hands.
Correct Score Prediction
With Leicester and Leeds only two points behind Everton, the home side will have to go for the victory. A point may not be good enough to keep them in the division.
The Toffees have conceded 10 goals in their last three home games. Although the visitors could finish as high as 13th, they have conceded 70 league goals so far this campaign. Only relegation-threatened Leeds have allowed more.
With both defences porous and plenty of nerves amongst the home support and possibly the players we should see goals. Expect Sean Dyche to get the result needed but for his players to not make it an easy watch.
A 2-1 home win seems a likely outcome at odds of 15/2 with BetKing
1×2 Predictions
At this time of year, the need to win often outweighs the evidence of having the ability to do so. A home tie with a newly promoted side who are already safe from an expected relegation is as favourable as you can get.
Everton won their first four meetings with Bournemouth at this level scoring 12 goals in the process. However, the last time these two sides met in the league at Goodison Park, the Cherries ran out convincing 3-1 victors.
Coincidentally, also on the last day of the season back in 2019/20. It’s something Everton are used to. The Toffees have lost their final league match in five of the last six seasons, conceding at least three goals in each defeat.
None of Bournemouth’s last 15 Premier League games have been drawn. However, after winning five of their seven games in April, the Cherries have lost all three so far in May.
Everton could well win this one and are hot favourites to do so but odds of 48/100 with Bet9ja represent their need rather than ability.
Draw No Bet Predictions
Given that Everton are winless in their last four Premier League home games, the visitors carry the value in the draw no bet predictions. In this market, if the teams draw then the stakes are returned.
Bournemouth have won the last four meetings between these two sides in all competitions. Scoring a minimum of three goals on each occasion including twice this season.
They have the ability to upset the odds here as they have done in winning five league road trips this campaign. There is also a chance that if results are going for them elsewhere then Everton could be safe regardless.
With odds of 79/20 with BetKing, a Bournemouth draw no bet would be high up on my shortlist of Tips for this fixture.
BTTS Predictions
Both teams have scored in seven of the last nine meetings between these two sides.
Only three teams have kept fewer clean sheets in the English top flight than the eight managed by both these two clubs.
Four of the last five Everton games have seen both sides get on the scoresheet. Gary O’Neil saw his side hit the back of the net in five of their last seven road trips.
Bet9ja odds show GG the 4/5 favourite here and I have to agree that it looks like the likeliest outcome.
Our Analysis of the Everton vs Bournemouth Match
Neither of these two sides are in good form. For Bournemouth, the pressure is off with their mission to survive already accomplished.
Five wins from seven fixtures last month saw Gary O’Neil achieve what many thought was impossible for much of the season. Since then, three straight defeats in May have taken a little shine off an impressive run of form.
The pressure is on Everton. Although Yerry Mina’s equaliser in the ninth minute of stoppage time against Wolves last time out could yet be a decisive point.
A run of just one win from their last 10 league games has left the Toffees perilously close to the drop. Had any of their rivals put a run of good form together this fixture may have just been a farewell to the top flight.
Sean Dyche will be nervously waiting on the fitness report of his key man. Dominic Calvert-Lewin was pivotal in the one win in that aforementioned run. A 5-1 hammering of Brighton in their own stadium.
Last time out, the 26-year-old striker was replaced in first-half added time after suffering a hamstring injury. Calvert-Lewin has only scored twice in 14 Premier League starts but his presence and link-up play in the final third is vital to his team.
Without the England international, Everton’s chances of ending a sequence of four straight defeats to Bournemouth will be severely dented.
Top Scorers Predictions for Everton vs Bournemouth
If Dominic Calvert-Lewin is missing, the home fans will be putting their trust in Dwight McNeil to continue his good form. Everton missed him in forward areas against Wolves with Sean Dyche utilising his versatility by playing him at left-back.
It was the first time in eight games the 23-year-old didn’t have a shot at goal. Having 19 attempts in his previous six appearances, scoring four times.
McNeil is Everton’s top Premier League goalscorer this season with seven goals.
He is 23/10 with BetKing to add to his tally in this crucial final fixture.
Goodison Park to Roar Everton to Much-Needed Victory
Everton are the clear favourites here and they need to win. One victory from 10 and three straight home defeats suggests that things may be more difficult than the odds suggest.
But they’re the favourites for a reason. The Toffees have shown they are capable of putting in high-quality performances when they need to. The wins over Arsenal, Brighton and Brentford since Dyche took charge prove that.
It feels familiar. Everton were in a similar position heading into their final home game last season.
Safety was certainly not guaranteed when they welcomed Crystal Palace to Goodison Park in May last year. The Toffees fought back from two goals down to win 3-2 against a better side.
It wouldn’t be surprising if Everton produced a similar result here.
Last results of the teams
Everton have lost their last three home games. Most recently 0-3 to Man City but before that 1-4 to Newcastle and 1-3 to Fulham.
Bournemouth’s three games played this month have all also ended in defeat. At home 1-3 to Chelsea and 0-1 to Man Utd. Falling to a 2-0 loss at Crystal Palace in their last road game.
