The family also declared that the group is not part of any plot to cause disorder and disaffection on May 29 across the country.
This disclosure follows the information the family said it received, alleging that some disgruntled elements were planning to cause disorder in the East in the name of the family and the IPOB group.
Prince Emmanuel Kanu, who spoke to Vanguard, said anyone linking the family or IPOB with any plot to disrupt the inauguration anywhere in the country is being mischievous, and looking for a way to blackmail the family and the movement.
He said, “We are not part of it. Anybody behind such a plot should count us out of it. We are not involved and we discourage such. Those doing such things are the real enemies of our people”.
The Kanu family representative said both the family and IPOB believe in peace and will continue to promote peace, stressing that their major preoccupation is on how to secure the release of Kanu, and not how to disrupt any inauguration.
Kanu thus advised the public to disregard any rumour or social media report associating the family or IPOB with any unholy act on the May 29 inauguration.
