First City Monument Bank has unveiled an innovative product called FCMB Airtime Advance, which allows customers to borrow funds from their bank accounts.
A statement from the bank said it allowed borrowings ranging from N200 to N5,000 directly from their bank accounts for the purpose of purchasing airtime, regardless of their financial status.
“This solution aims to provide immediate relief to customers in urgent need of airtime for phone calls, text messages, and other essential communication activities,” it stated.
With FCMB Airtime Advance, customers would no longer have to worry about how to top up their airtime, the bank stated.
It said the introduction of FCMB Airtime Advance marked a significant milestone for the bank.
By bridging the funding gap and eliminating the discomfort of being disconnected during phone calls due to insufficient airtime, FCMB said it was revolutionising the way customers managed their communication needs.
It said, “Eligible customers, including those with or without existing FastCash loans, can access the airtime advance by dialing FCMB’s USSD code *329# or using the loan string 32911#.
“The loan comes with flexible repayment cycles, and the repayment amount is deducted from the customer’s account balance.”
During the product launch in Lagos, the Managing Director of FCMB, Mrs Yemisi Edun, expresed the bank’s commitment to providing assistance to as many people as possible.
She said it was bringing joy to individuals, households, and businesses nationwide by helping them meet their critical communication requirements.
Edun encouraged Nigerians to take advantage of FCMB airtime advance while reiterating the bank’s dedication to delivering value-added digital banking solutions and an exceptional customer experience.
The Divisional Head of Personal Banking at FCMB, Mr Shamsideen Fashola, highlighted the significance of the airtime advance, describing it as a necessary product.
He said the inability to purchase airtime, leading to communication limitations and the embarrassment of call disconnections due to insufficient airtime, would be eliminated by FCMB’s Airtime Advance solution.
