The app is set to connect individuals to highly qualified and verified doctors, laboratories, and pharmacies, providing them with efficient, convenient, and accessible medical attention wherever they are. With EzzyCare, Africans can access quality and affordable healthcare at their fingertips.
Some of the key features of the app include virtual medical consultations via chat, video, or audio calls, flexible and affordable payment plans, connecting patients with healthcare providers in rural areas and crisis zones, guaranteed screened and certified medical practitioners, and strict confidentiality between doctors and patients.
Speaking at the launch, the Chief Executive Officer, EzzyCare, Dr Torngee Malu, said EzzyCare has been designed to work like an Uber app, allowing users to access healthcare services from anywhere at any time.
The app, he said provides access to a range of healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses, and specialists, all of whom are available to provide consultations, prescriptions, and appointments through the app.
Malu who has worked in the medical industry for over a decade, said his major aim for inventing this app, is to address the issues surrounding access to healthcare, the high cost of care, and the availability of healthcare providers.
“I got this idea several years ago when medical apps were not in operations because I have worked in a hospital setting, I have gone through all the ranks de of the medical training and I understand the challenges that come with accessing healthcare and the challenges that come with the cost of accessing healthcare and the challenges that come with the availability of healthcare providers.
“So it is something that we have been working on for years precisely about 11 years on how to bring doctors who are in scarce supply to be together on an app that people would be able to access from anywhere and thank God EzzyCare came to the future and became alive.”
He added,” EzzyCare has over N1,000 subscribed doctors and all the specialities have been covered. From general clinical practice to cardiology, aesthetics, gynaecology, mental health and aspect of medicine that you can think of. Ezzy Care has doctors that are close to you.
“All you need to click for urgent care and it will help locate doctors who are available at that time. The first doctor available picks up your request within 30 seconds and at most one minute, you can get a doctor for consultations.”
He went on to say that with the shortage of doctors in many remote areas of the country, EzzyCare is aiming to bridge the gap by providing access to over a thousand doctors, who can treat patients anywhere in the country via the app, adding that this will be of immense value in areas where there is only one doctor in the local government or no medical professionals at all.
The CEO also expressed a willingness to collaborate with the government to help take their services to even more people in need, noting that EzzyCare is simply having a hospital in your hands.
In addition, the Medical Director EzzyCare, Dr Deborah Ojiako stated that EzzyCare prides itself on ensuring that all consultations between healthcare providers and care seekers are kept confidential.
Dr. Ojiako explained that whatever discussion between the care seeker and healthcare provider is kept confidential, and the only way EzzyCare comes in is to connect both parties, adding that this ensures that sensitive medical information remains private and secure, an important factor in the trust between healthcare professionals and patients.
