According to Evangelist Adetunji, the claims of Pastor Ibiyeomie are not only untrue but also a reflection of his lack of knowledge about the white garment churches. Evangelist Adetunji stressed that no such thing happen in the Celestial churches where he worships.
Recall that Pastor Ibiyeomie had in a video that went viral on social media explained why he doesn’t like white garment churches.
The PUNCH reports that Pastor Ibiyeomie in the viral video said “Do you know why I hate white garment churches, people don’t know why I hate them. If you know what they do you will never like them. They can take your surname and put it inside a bottle of gin and make incantations.”
“That’s how they do it. All these yeye prophets. They will take the name of somebody and put it inside the local gin and read all those demonic Psalms in it,” Ibiyeomie added.
However, reacting to Ibiyeomie’s allegations in a phone interview with our reporter on Monday, Evang. Adetunji noted that such statements were likely to come because people often oppose those on God’s side.
He said, “If anybody is on God’s side, He will have many enemies”
He explained that he was born in Celestial Church and had never seen such practices claimed by Ibiyeomie, noting that if such a practice was going on, he would have left the church.
He added that people are free to go to any church they like, and should not be commenting about things they do not understand, adding that those saying such incorrect things do not know where the power of the Church comes from.
“I was born in Celestial, if such a practice is being practiced, I don’t think I can still remain in the church till now. This is because this is not where my father was born, so I’m free to go to any church I like, but because the people do not know where the power comes from, that is why they are saying all such things”
“I know that there are some people that are wolves in sheepskin. There is no way that you will see good people, that you will not see bad ones,” he added.
Evang. Adetunji said that there is no such thing as tying someone’s destiny or putting their life inside a bottle. He explained that people can write their family’s name in a Bible and put it on the altar if they are having problems, adding that does not mean that someone’s destiny is being tied.
He said “There is nothing like tying destiny or putting people’s lives inside a bottle. There is something that we normally do, like now, maybe your child is having a problem or you put the name of your whole family, you can write it inside a bible and they’ll put it at the altar, that doesn’t mean they tie somebody’s destiny.
“Let’s now look at it this way, now let’s assume that somebody join today, maybe he brought his spouse’s name that they should tie him or her for him or her, just for him to keep the person, one day, he’ll soon discover that this thing I’m doing is not right because that cannot be right. But there is no such practice in Celestial church,” said.
“My wife was not a Celestial church member, she’s a Methodist by birth, but when we got married, she changed to Celestial, the father, and mother are still much alive. At least, if she sees something like that, she will surely tell her mother or her father. Will they ask her to continue? they will stop her, so there is nothing like that.”
He warned against spreading fake rumours about the Celestial church, noting that fake rumours are dangerous in any society.
