Joseph Iloh, the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Abia State, has dismissed reports trending in social media that he had been redeployed to another state.
Iloh stated that he was not redeployed to another state as being insinuated by disgruntled elements, describing the report as false.
The INEC REC who made this known, in a telephone interview with DAILY POST on Friday night, explained that he was still in charge of the Abia state headquarters of INEC, stressing that he had put every logistics in place to ensure peaceful and credible polls this Saturday.
His words, “We are preparing for tomorrow’s elections. We have packaged all materials, both sensitive and non-sensitive just for us to go ahead for the Saturday’s polls.
“I’m promising the good people of Abia State that the election will be fair and credible. Our problem is the desperation of politicians, that is our biggest problem.
“But, I’m still in office now, preparing and I will conduct the tomorrow’s elections. If I have been redeployed, I will be going to another state. I have not been redeployed. In Abia, propaganda is stock in trade of politicians”.
