The party also prayed for the quick recovery of ailing Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.
The concerns over Omotosho’s abduction were raised by the National Chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, during Monday’s meeting of the National Working Committee and APC State Chairmen held at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja.
Omotosho was kidnapped on Saturday evening along Agbado – Imesi-Ekiti road in Gbonyin Local Government Area of Ekiti while driving alone to his hometown.
The APC chairman was allegedly ambushed, forced out of his Toyota Hilux and whisked away by the gunmen.
His abduction was confirmed by his state party publicity secretary, Segun Dipe, on Saturday evening.
Akeredolu, on the other hand, has travelled abroad on medical for medical leave.
Prior to his travel, the governor had handed power over to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in an acting capacity.
“We announce with the deepest sense of sorrow, a member of the state chairmen, Paul Omotosho, who is also Ekiti APC Chairman. We got to know today that he was kidnapped.
“As at the time of coming to this meeting, he was still in the hands of the kidnappers. It is our hope and prayers that he will be spared and brought home soonest.
“In the same vein, we regret to announce the extreme incapacity of the Governor of Ondo state who we understand has been hospitalised oversea. We wish him well and pray for a speedy recovery.”
