The Nigerian female team forced Canada to a 0-0 draw in Melbourne on Friday with an impressive performance from the team’s captain, Chiamaka Nnadozie, who is the goalkeeper.
The Nigeria goalie made a crucial intervention by saving a penalty kick taken by Canada captain, Christine Sinclair.
But reacting to the match, Nigerians who took to the microblogging site, Twitter, hailed the team’s goalkeeper for her performance.

On his part, Maazị Chiedozie Ndubuisi said, “Nice game from the girls, they were phenomenal… it isn’t easy getting back to a game that was initially dominated by the Olympic champions… Top-notch mentality and apt focus… Soar super falcons.”

should be thankful for the support they received in Melbourne today. Many of us took leave from work to come to watch the match and we’re very loud.”
