The suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, was on Tuesday morning arraigned before a Federal High Court in Lagos by the Federal Ministry of Justice for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
The embattled financial guru appeared in court in a white kaftan, clutching what appeared to be a Bible tucked inside a red paperback.
Emefiele was arraigned on two counts of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition before the vacation judge, Justice Nicholas Oweibo.
Justice Oweibo granted Emefiele bail in the sum of N20 million with one surety in like sum, following his “not guilty” plea.
