Information about what led to the incident was not immediately available, but security sources said the corpse of the deceased was found in her house located around Oke Glo Area in Ikirun.
Some residents of Oke Glo that spoke on the incident but craved anonymity expressed shock, noting that the corpse of the deceased was evacuated by the police after she was found dead in her room with marks of violence around her neck, suggesting that she may have been strangulated.
A resident, who preferred to be identified as Jide, said since Iya Bisola’s business premises located along Station Road, Ikirun, is not close to her residence, people in the neighborhood of Oke Glo where she lived hardly see her, as she usually spends evening time attending to her customers.
Demanding diligent investigation into the matter, he also called for reinforcement of security within Ikirun metropolis to prevent crime.
Osun Police Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, was unavailable through her mobile phone on Friday.
But the public relations officer of Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kehinde Adeleke, during an interview, said officer of the command visited the scene before the corpse was evacuated.
She further said, “A popular Beer Parlor vendor called ‘IYA BISOLA’ at Station road Ikirun was allegedly strangled to death by unknown person (s).
“Though, the reasons for her assassination is yet to be unraveled. Our personnel visited the scene of incident at Oke GLO Ikirun before the corpse was evacuated.”
