Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, is beaming with pride as he enrols his son, Jason, in the prestigious Liverpool Football Academy in England, with Nollywood stars and others backing the teenager to shine at the European giants.
Doting father Basketmouth took to his Instagram page on Monday to share a video of his son’s arrival at the renowned academy.
The caption spoke volumes of a father’s hopes and dreams for his child, as Basketmouth wrote, “Go make daddy proud boy. @liverpoolfcchamps.”
Jason, 15, the only son of Basketmouth and his estranged wife, Elsie Uzoma, is set to embark on this exciting new chapter in his young life. With Liverpool Football Academy known for producing some of the finest football talents in the world, it is evident that Jason’s promising journey has just begun.
The comedian and his former spouse, Elsie, had three children together before parting ways in 2022.
Fans and well-wishers eagerly anticipate witnessing the rise of a potential football star under the guiding lights of Liverpool FC as they all joined Basketmouth in wishing Jason the best of luck in his football journey in the comments section of the page.
Jason’s enrollment in the Liverpool academy is a major coup for the young player. Liverpool is one of the most prestigious football clubs in the world, and its academy has produced some of the biggest names in the game, including Steven Gerrard, Raheem Sterling, and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Some Nigerian talents like Victor Moses, Sheyi Ojo, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Bobby Adekanye have starred for the Reds.
