The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has won his polling unit, with the PDP polling 161 votes in the governorship election to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) that got 99 votes.
The APC had defeated PDP at Atiku’s polling unit during the presidential and National Assembly elections two weeks ago.
At the Gwadabawa Ward, Old State House 014 Polling Unit, opposite Deputy Governor’s Office, Yola North Local Government Area (LGA), where the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate Abdulaziz voted, the PDP came first in the governorship poll with 123 votes, ADC came second with 78 votes, while APC followed with 63 votes.
The PDP was by early Saturday evening also leading comfortably at polling units around the New Government House in Jimeta where Governor Mohammed Jibrilla Bindow has his office.
The PDP had led in all the six voting points announced as at press time, while results gleaned from the remaining two voting points similarly indicated that PDP had more votes than its closest contender, the APC.
