Italian club, Bologna, have joined in the race for the signature of prolific goalscorer Akor Adams, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The Nigerian has been impressive in the Norwegian top-flight scoring a remarkable 15 goals in his last 15 league games and has now caught the attention of several clubs in Europe.
According to L’Equipe, Montpellier see Adams as the ideal replacement for their star forward, Elye Wahi, who is anticipated to leave the club during this summer transfer window and are hoping to complete the deal next week having secured an agreement with both Lillestrom and Adams for his imminent transfer.
“The Hérault club should conclude the arrival of Nigerian Akor Adams (23, Lillestrom, NOR) next week,” the website wrote.
“With the recruitment of a second striker, the MHSC will have a full workforce, in which the departure of Mamadou Sakho (33 years old, under contract until 2024) is desired.”
In a new twist, Calcioline wrote that Bologna are convinced they can provide the striker the platform to continue with his development.
“Something would still be missing in attack and here is a name followed internationally like that of Akor Adams, a striker owned by Lillestrom. The Nigerian footballer, 15 goals in 15 games, is reportedly attracting the attention of many European clubs also because his contract expires on December 31 next year. The 23-year-old is waiting for the right call to change the scene and in Bologna he could find the fertile ground for further
growth.”
