The Kano Independent Research Centre Trust, on Sunday, offered free medical services to no fewer than 3,000 people from Dawakin kudu rural community, all of whom are underprivileged members of the society.
The Chief Medical Director of the centre, Dr Jameel Ahmad, while briefing newsmen during the free medical outreach, said, “The centre organised the programme, to offer free medical services to patients within the community, who cannot afford the high cost of quality medical services.”
According to him, the services are part of the centre’s Corporate Social Responsibility for underprivileged members of Dawakin kudu, a predominantly rural community.
“So far, it has been very interesting because as it is now, we have more than 1,000 people, who have been diagnosed and treated free of charge.
“We are expecting not less than 3,000 patients and above and already we have 5,000 patients assembled at this centre, some of whom have been treated for their different ailments,” the CMD said.
