Ex-students of the Olabisi Onabajo University have called on the management of the institution to release the results of their examination without further delay.
Some of the students who spoke with our correspondents on Monday said the result of the courses they wrote since 2006 had yet to be released.
The students claimed they had taken the necessary steps and written the examination again in the year 2015 but all efforts were to no avail.
One of the students identified as Babatunde Kotun, who was admitted in 2002 in the Department of Arts and Social Sciences Education said all efforts to get his results released after completing his degree in 2007 proved abortive.
Kotun said “I completed my programme at Olabisi Onabajo University in 2007. My result is yet to be processed for collection since 2007 till date. The school could not find my exam scores to process my result.
“I sat for the examination again in the year 2015. When I was done writing the examination they promised to process the result.
“The school has been on the issue since 2015. I have been on the campus back and forth and they kept saying they are on it.”
Another student, Seyi, who does not want his name mentioned, said, “We have made several efforts since 2006, I even went on behalf of the five of us to the Vice-Chancellor’s church and he sent someone to me that we should write a letter and drop it with his secretary in the office explaining in detail how it all happened which we have submitted on Friday of the same week and we are still waiting to hear from him.”
Also, a student identified simply as Emmanuel, said, “We were supposed to graduate in 2008/2009. Immediately after our graduation, we commenced the process of our result collection. We tried all we could from 2009 till 2013 but we could not access it.”
The PUNCH contacted, a lecturer in the Faculty of Education, Prof. Oluwakemi Adekola, said that she was not a legal representative in charge of such cases in the school.
“I am not the registrar neither am I the VC. I do not have the registrar number and I am just a lecturer.”
All efforts to get the reaction of the Head of Departments, Prof. Oladunjoye proved abortive as several calls were not responded to as of the time of filing this report.
