A popular actress, Ayo Adesanya, has said that age often determines the types of roles that an actor can play.
In an interview with Saturday Beats, the actress, who turned 54 last week, said, “For many actors, age determines the type of character they can play. There is no role I did not play when I was younger. These days, I usually act as an aunty or mother. When I was younger, I played young female roles.”
The actress also stated that she felt really grateful for how far she had come. She said, “Though I am still a work in progress, I have worked on many movies and sometimes, when I watch myself on streaming apps, I am grateful to God concerning the projects I have been able to work on. There are still some things I want to do that I have not done though. Acting is my world, and I love to appear in movies.”
She continued, “Growing old these days is not easy, especially because of the times we are living in. I am actually so excited to turn 54 years old. Concerning my career and family, God has been so faithful to me. I will do a thanksgiving.”
Advising young actors on how to utilise their social media spaces, Adesanya said, “As an up-and-coming act, make sure you feed your page. It is very important to feed your page, no matter how private you are. People might not talk, but they are watching. This is the age and time when anyone can just go to one’s page to get information about one. One must feed one’s social media pages, so people can see one’s works.”
