Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi State, has shown his support for Ahmed Usman Ododo as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor in the next election on November 11.
In order to ensure a seamless continuation of his administration’s achievements, Governor Bello elucidated on his reasons for choosing Ododo as his successor during the state’s 32nd creation anniversary celebration.
Ododo was praised by Governor Bello for his traits, calling him a candidate that exemplifies humility, humanity, and potent leadership abilities.
He highlighted his intention to transfer power to someone who is dedicated to maintaining the advancements made during his administration and provide the necessary compassionate and revolutionary leadership for the state’s upcoming development.
Bello expressed faith in Ododo’s capacity to continue the upward growth trajectory established by the New Direction Administration. In the approaching Kogi State Governorship Elections set for November 11, he urged the populace to vote Ododo.
While reviewing the state’s history, Governor Bello acknowledged the difficulties encountered and emphasized the tenacity that helped Kogi grow stronger and more lively. He ascribed both the achievements and shortcomings of his predecessors in office for the state of the nation and its citizens today.
Bello’s dedication to the New Direction Blueprint remained the administration’s guiding principle throughout his tenure as governor. Despite financial limitations, he emphasized accomplishments in the areas of agriculture, infrastructure, youth empowerment, civil service reform, and education.
Kogi State received top rankings in the States’ Financial Transparency, Accountability, and Sustainability (SFTAS) index of the World Bank thanks to the governor’s commitment to financial transparency and accountability.
Early in the year, the Kogi State 32-Year Development Plan was created by Governor Bello’s government. The plan sets both short- and long-term goals in order to advance the state’s growth during the following three decades.
In order to lessen the burden on common Nigerians, Governor Bello also endorsed the “harsh-decisions” made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to end decades-old institutional practices like the fuel subsidy system and the floating of the Naira.
Governor Bello’s support for Ahmed Usman Ododo demonstrates his desire for a smooth transfer of power in Kogi State while also acknowledging the development.
