The enforcement team from the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, led by the Director, Land Use Charge, Olufisayo Ogunbiyi, said the action was not unconnected with non-compliance with revenue payment to the coffers of the state government.
He said, “The commercial banks and the telecommunications outfits have been served notices before the enforcement team visited them. Once they pay the required Land use charge, their premises would be re-opened for business.”
Ogunbiyi stressed that the government has zero tolerance for non-compliance to its policies and urged all business owners to ensure prompt payment of charges to the government account to ensure their businesses are not disrupted as the exercise was still continuing.
“Ratepayers can also make Land Use Charge Payment by visiting the ministry’s website, while people can make online payment by downloading Oyo State Property Reference System through Google Play Store or App Store, which will identify the building/property and outstanding land use charge outstanding,” he said.
